The meeting included prominent members like General Secretary Akhtiar Ali Chana, Raj Ali Wahid, Abdul Qadir Soomro, and Abdul Faheem Memon.

During this session, the lawyer community’s issues in Karachi were at the forefront of the discussion. The leaders from the Bar Association highlighted several challenges, particularly those related to transportation, to Minister Memon.

In response, Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced a new initiative by the Sindh government to facilitate lawyers’ travel within the city. A shuttle service will be introduced, connecting Pigeon Chowk to the City Courts, thereby easing travel between Malir Courts and the City Courts.

Minister Memon emphasized the Karachi Bar Association’s significant contributions to upholding democracy and the rule of law, acknowledging their invaluable efforts.

He reiterated that the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) support for lawyers is deeply rooted in the visionary leadership of Shaheed Bhutto and Shaheed Bibi. Shaheed Bhutto recognized the crucial role lawyers play in defending democratic values and ensuring justice, while Shaheed Bibi implemented numerous reforms to strengthen the judiciary and support legal professionals.

Minister Memon affirmed that the current Sindh government, led by the PPP, remains committed to following the principles of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Bibi. The government will take all necessary steps to address and resolve the issues faced by lawyers in the region.
