Pedro Acosta leads warm up

Pedro Acosta gets off to an ideal start to the MotoGP race Sunday at Mugello with the best time in the warm-up. Francesco Bagnaia is well behind in the ten-minute session.

The result: Acosta was 0.082 seconds faster than Enea Bastianini in 1:45.900 minutes, who led a Ducati quintet of Franco Morbidelli, Alex Marquez, Fabio Di Giannantonio and Jorge Martin in second place. Seventh place went to Aleix Espargaro ahead of Raul Fernandez. Marc Marquez was ninth, with Maverick Vinales completing the top ten.

Brad Binder finished eleventh, Fabio Quartararo was 13th. Francesco Bagnaia could not get beyond 18th place.

Falls, defects & incidents: The MotoGP stars had everything under control in the warm-up. There were no crashes or slips.

The weather: The MotoGP started the race Sunday with only light cloud cover. During the warm-up, the outside temperature was 18 degrees and the asphalt was 26 degrees.
