Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore shared an anecdote related to her husband Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Actually, Sharmila had recently come to be a part of an event with granddaughter Sara Ali Khan. During this, Sharmila said- Once my husband told me that you should go to the kitchen at least three times a day. I told him – Tiger, this is a very bad idea, because if I go to the kitchen, I will start asking again and again ‘This is not the same, where is that same?’ Fed up with my questions, someone will resign from the job. I think it’s better for me not to go to the kitchen.
At last Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi accepted defeat. He started cooking himself. This increased his confidence so much that he started calling people for recipes. He started trying new things by watching YouTube.
Sharmila said- Once upon a time, when I was in London. Someone called me and said that they cooked and fed us a wonderful meal. He was doing a much better job without having to go into my kitchen.
Grandma has always supported- Sara
Sara had told in the same event that if anything happens to me or Ibrahim, I know that Badi Amma (Sharmila Tagore) will never leave my mother Amrita Singh alone. Sara further said- I too have gone through such a phase in my life when I was in great need of someone’s support and then Badi Amma stood for me like an army. He has always supported me. It is only in difficult times that we understand the true value of relationships.
Sharmila-Mansoor’s love story is filmy
In 1965, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi met Sharmila Tagore at an after match party. At that time Mansoor was the captain of the Indian cricket team and Sharmila Tagore was a top actress. Mansoor Saheb liked Sharmila at first sight and after some time he sent 7 fridges as a gift, but Sharmila was not impressed by it. After some time, when Mansoor Ali Khan scored a double century in a match, Sharmila messaged Mansoor to show off in front of her friends.
Both of them met again at a party, which after some time turned into friendship and then into love. One day when Mansoor was going abroad for a match, Sharmila left the shooting of An Evening in Paris going on in Panvel and reached the airport to meet him. Nawab Saheb asked her whether she would come along. Then what happened was that Sharmila got the ticket booked without taking the luggage and went abroad with him.
Got a marriage proposal in Paris, but rejected it.
Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi had proposed Sharmila for marriage in Paris, but Sharmila rejected the proposal. Sharmila had placed a condition that she would marry him only if he hit 3 sixes simultaneously in the next match. Mansoor fulfilled Sharmila’s condition by scoring a hat-trick of 6 runs in the next match. Both of them got married on 27 December 1968. After marriage, Sharmila accepted Islam and changed her name to Ayesha. From this marriage he has 3 children Saba Ali Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan.
