New Delhi: It has been almost a month since the release of filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s film Amar Singh Chamkila, but this film remains a topic of discussion among the fans. Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra starrer is getting great reviews on Netflix. Recently, in an interview with Connect Cine, Imtiaz was answering fans’ questions about the film and a viewer asked why he used the animation to show Diljit lighting a cigarette. And it was a smart way to show this in the film, as the actor is a Sikh and cannot be seen smoking.

Answering the question, Imtiaz Ali revealed, ‘I try not to show anyone smoking in my films. You won’t see anyone smoking in any of my films! This was important in the film, because it was an integral part of what Chamkila actually did in her life. It was not imagined, it really happened and it was necessary to show it. Imtiaz further said, ‘All those people of Punjab who knew Chamkila also know that he has done this. For them, I didn’t want to show Diljit smoking and he wouldn’t smoke anyway… so that was a bit of a problem. So we took support like this comic book genre.

Imtiaz has used animation in many of the special scenes in Amar Singh Chamkila, from the scenes depicting violence in Punjab to the scene where he is crowned as a roof breaker, where the roofs collapse due to the crowd of fans. Were. He said, ‘He was called a ceiling-breaking artist, which was a measure of his success and celebration. But when you shoot it in real life, it will be a very painful scene, in which hundreds of people will be falling and hurting themselves. How can we justify it by saying that it is a good thing? To ensure that the pain does not come out, we used animation on it. So, there were a few reasons why we used it. I was careful to create a mythology and I thought this was a good genre through which to create it.’
