Melinda wrote in an X post, ‘After much consideration, I have decided to resign from my responsibility as co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. My last day of working with the foundation will be June 7. I am taking this step with the confidence that the Gates Foundation is in a strong position. CEO Mark Suzman, executive leadership and experienced Board of Trustees will ensure that all essential work continues.
Bill Gates said- I am sure that you will leave a deep mark through your philanthropic work in future also.
After this announcement by Melinda Gates, Bill Gates said in a separate post that he is saddened by Melinda’s departure, but I am sure that she will leave a deep impression in the future with her philanthropic work.
