On Monday, Dorna announced the news in a press release. “For the first time in the 75-year history of the sport, all bikes and riders will start at Silverstone with a unique special livery,” the MotoGP organizer said in a letter.

“Every chapter of the teams’ unique history serves as inspiration. All 11 MotoGP teams on the grid, including the five manufacturers, will be driving their own special edition with vintage colors.” It’s not just the motorcycles themselves that are being revised for the anniversary. “Many of our sport’s partners are ready for a retro design. A new coat of paint is being given to the BMW M Safety Car, the podium celebrations, vintage exhibitions and much more.”
Of course, the MotoGP teams’ special liveries will also be presented in a special way. For example, a special ‘Anniversary Special Programme’ will take place on Thursday, August 1st. During the one-hour show starting at 2pm local time, fans with a pit lane ticket can watch this presentation live on site. The show will also be broadcast live on motogp.com.
Before the Silverstone Grand Prix (02.08. – 04.08.) there is a double-header consisting of the Dutch TT and the German Grand Prix. This is followed by a three-week summer break before the MotoGP stars head to Great Britain for the start of the second half of the season.
