New Delhi. Director Kiran Rao is currently enjoying the success of her recently released film ‘Laapta Ladies’. This film, released in the year 2024, was much talked about. Many big Bollywood stars have praised this film. ‘Laapta Ladies’ has been produced by Aamir Khan. Recently Kiran Rao told how she first met her ex-husband Aamir Khan and when the two started dating each other.
During an interview with Cyrus Broacha, Kiran Rao told that Reema Kagti got her the first film in which Aamir Khan was working. She said, ‘Reema Kagti called me and told me that the shooting is going on in Bhuj, do you want to come? I said okay. She told me that it is a 3-month job. But we worked for 6 months. That film was Lagaan. Aamir Khan was taking a big risk of making a film on sports in 100-year-old Awadhi. That is a completely different dialect.’
The 3-month shoot for the film went on for 6 months
Kiran further said, ‘The shooting of the film started in the winter season. It started in January and continued till June. When it was the month of May, we used to shoot till 11 pm. Then we used to shoot at 4 or 5 pm. It was a film based on cricket, so a 3-month shoot became a 6-month shoot.’
