Renuka Swamy Murder Case: Darshan in custody for 6 days, 1 actress also arrested

New Delhi. Kannada actor Darshan Thugudeepa has been sent to 6-day police custody. He was arrested by Bengaluru police in Mysore on Tuesday morning in connection with the Renuka Swamy murder case. An accused in the murder case had revealed the actor’s name. On Tuesday afternoon, police officials interrogated Darshan, after which he has been sent to 6-day police custody. Police have also arrested Darshan’s close friend and actress Pavitra Gowda in this case.

According to police officials, Renuka Swamy used to send obscene messages to Darshan’s friend and actress Pavitra Gowda. Angered by this, Renuka Swamy was murdered and her body was allegedly thrown into a canal in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru in front of Darshan. Renuka was allegedly killed in front of Darshan.

Police say that 9 accused have allegedly accused Darshan by claiming his presence during the attack on Renuka Swamy. Actress Pavitra Gowda has also been arrested in this case. Police officials are investigating whether she has any connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy. Pavitra’s name is often linked with Darshan.

What is Renuka Swamy murder case?

Renuka Swamy was found dead on June 8, 2024 on the Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. She reportedly worked at the Apollo Pharmacy branch in Chitradurga. It is said that a wooden log was used to severely injure her. The culprits intended to dump the body in the Vrishabhavathi valley. Dogs were later seen gnawing at the body.

Evidence against Darshan captured on camera?

On Tuesday afternoon, the Karnataka police also released a video in which Darshan’s car was allegedly seen near the spot where Renuka’s body was dumped. The video showed a car that allegedly belonged to Darshan. However, it is not clear whether Darshan was inside the car at that time.
