Richa Chadha made her Bollywood debut with Dibakar Banerjee’s film ‘Oye Lucky Lucky Oye’. After this, she showed her best performance in Anurag Kashyap’s classic film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ Part 1 and 2. Richa has recently appeared in the role of Lajjo in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series ‘Heeramandi’. In an interview, she recently talked about the challenges in breaking the stereo type image after working in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’.
In a conversation with Instant Bollywood, Richa said that she used to wear glamorous clothes to award functions to show her real self after ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. She wanted people to know what I really look like. Because she did not want people to see her as a middle-aged village woman. She said- I just wanted to see how people react to seeing me like this.
I never thought I would sing with Bhansali
Richa said that this was the trick through which I changed that stereotype image. Everyone faces the problem of stereotypes, but you also find some people who understand who you are. I never thought that I would do a song with Bhansali sahab after ten years of my career.
However, Richa’s journey to success was not easy. During the conversation, she recalled how she was replaced from roles at the last moment. She said- There have been many times when I did not get the roles that I wanted to do. Sometimes I was even shortlisted for a character and I knew that I was the best for that work. But still I did not get it. This has happened many times.
The actress was asked that when people say that you are not right for this role, what do you do? Richa said- I am not one of those people who go to their office and tell them to please take me. I don’t do all this.
Richa will give birth to a child in July
Richa announced her pregnancy through her official Instagram handle in February. Now the news is that she is going to give birth to her first child in July. These days Richa is in the third trimester of pregnancy. Talking about Richa’s upcoming projects, after ‘Heeramandi’, she will now be seen in ‘Mirzapur 3’ and ‘Metro In Dinon’.
