2024 is a special year for Red Bull. It is the 20th season since the energy drink manufacturer entered the Formula 1. The team is celebrating this anniversary at three races with special paint jobs. The first of these will take place next weekend in Silverstone, and it will put the “Red” in Red Bull.
Red Bull offered fans their own online configurator for the designs, where they could put together individual design elements. Many of these were inspired by the team’s designs from the past, and the RED Bull RB20 for Silverstone also brings back memories of the 2010s. More specifically, the famous special designs that the team regularly used at launches and winter tests.
Red Bull in Silverstone: Memories of test specials
The design for Silverstone, created by Thai fan Chalaj Suvanish, is reminiscent of two of these special appearances in particular. Firstly, the famous “Camo Bull” from 2015, a black and white camouflage pattern. Secondly, the 2019 rollout, in which the car only used red stripes and chevrons on a dark background.

Fan designer Suvanish also notes: “I wanted to use red in the design to convey the spirit and strength of the Red Bull logo and was inspired by FlowVis paint, which is used in aerodynamic testing.

Unsurprisingly, the adjustments for Silverstone are not nearly as extensive. The basic features of the standard design, such as the large logo on the airbox, are unchanged. There is still a red color pattern on the front wing, nose and sidepods. In addition, the team branding in the garage and on the racing suits will be adapted to the design.
The anniversary initiative, dubbed “Forever Rebl”, with the fan designs “REBL CUSTMS”, will also offer special designs in Singapore and Austin after Silverstone. “Our fans are the key to everything we do and I am very happy that they can play such an important role in our journey,” says team boss Christian Horner.
