It has become almost a tradition: During the weekend of the The WEC calendar for next season will be presented at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This year is no different. At a press conference on Friday, the ACO and the FIA presented all the dates for the 2025 season. There are no new venues, but there is bad news for Formula 1 fans who also want to watch Le Mans.
In 2025, for the first time since 2022, there will be a collision between the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Formula 1. More precisely, with the Canadian Grand Prix, which will take place on the same weekend.
WEC 2025: Race calendar with little change
In terms of venues, the calendar consisting of eight races remains unchanged and the order also remains the same. The opening race will take place one week after the prologue on February 28th in Qatar, before the WEC starts in Imola on April 20th. The season then continues, as it did this year, on May 10th with the 6-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps.
After Le Mans is held from June 15th to 16th, the World Endurance Championship will travel to Sao Paulo again in July. After the Brazil race, there will be a summer break of almost two months before the 2025 WEC season continues with the Lone Star Le Mans in Austin. The penultimate race of the season will take place in Fuji on September 28th, before Bahrain rounds off the season.
In this respect, the WEC remains true to the 2024 season. All race lengths are identical to this year. This means that 6-hour races remain the norm. Apart from the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Qatar and Bahrain are the only outliers. The season opener at the Losail International Circuit covers a distance of 1,812 kilometers or 10 hours. The finale lasts eight hours.
