1. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati): “I enjoyed the whole weekend, everything went perfectly. I would like to thank the fans here, I really enjoyed it today. I was very precise, very fast and the weather was excellent. We were able to set our pace and the tire choice was perfect too. Everything was perfect, so I can only be very happy.”
2. Jorge Martin (Pramac): “It was certainly a difficult weekend. We got through a tough Friday and then improved yesterday. From yesterday to today we made great progress again. We were much closer to Pecco. But at the end of the race I had nothing left. I had tried everything to catch him. But second place is certainly good enough for a tough weekend. Second place twice is solid.”
3. Enea Bastianini (Ducati): “I wanted to push from the start, but I still had a few problems with the rear tire. But lap after lap I was able to improve and came close to the podium. I tried and in the end I succeeded. I am very satisfied. That was very good work by the team because two days ago we were not ready for it.”
4. Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46): “I’m really happy, we worked hard and finally fought for the podium and were the first GP23 to cross the finish line. What a great fight in the group! It’s a shame about third place, but at a certain point I had to let them overtake because the front tyre temperature dropped too much and it’s easy to make a mistake in these conditions in Assen. In any case, I’m happy and very proud of the team: let’s keep going like this!”
5. Maverick Vinales (Aprilia): “I gave 100 percent during the race. I’m obviously happy, but not completely satisfied because the level we’re showing here is really high. The bike moved a lot, which made it difficult to change direction. Despite that, I think the RS-GP24 is competitive.”
6. Brad Binder (KTM): “It was quite a hectic race. I chose the soft rear tyre because I felt I could keep up better with the guys at the front, but in reality they were able to set a super fast pace with the medium and we just burned the tyre trying to keep up with them. That was difficult for sure. I would have liked to have come away with a better result, but I didn’t leave anything on the table. We still have some work to do. My feeling is not bad. I understand the front limit and I didn’t crash at all this weekend. We just need to find more speed.”
7. Alex Marquez (Gresini): “It was a difficult race, even if it was a positive weekend overall. We struggled to get the bike into the corner with the hard front tyre, but with the soft option we would have struggled too much. We have to work in Germany to understand how we can improve. Today’s data will certainly be useful for the upcoming races, we have a clear idea and hope to be able to implement it at the Sachsenring.”
8. Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse): “I’m happy with the result but not happy when I saw that we lost quite a lot to the leaders. It’s hard to find a way to improve our bike but I know we have the margin to improve. We’re working on the electronics and they work well but that’s not enough yet. It’s important that we keep working in this area because Maverick (Viñales) was very competitive and fought for the podium until the end. We need to improve our electronics so that I can use the maximum potential of the bike but I think we did a really good job. This morning I had pain all over my body after yesterday’s crash but thanks to the health center who took really good care of me I felt very good in the race. Of course I had a few pains but I was at a good level and I’m happy to be back in the top 10. It’s very interesting for the team and for me to see how good our progress is and that’s what we have to do in the future – try to fight for a place in Q2 and then do our maximum and give Aprilia all our information to improve the bike for the future.”
9. Franco Morbidelli (Pramac): “I had a good start and was able to join the group where I wanted to have a good race. So the first few laps were very good. Then I was pushed off by a rider, and later again, so I lost positions. Since then I have been racing to get the best out of it. I am still studying the bike to complete my adaptation to it.”
10. Marc Marquez (Gresini): “Unfortunately, we are, albeit slightly, outside the technical parameters regarding tyre pressure and that is why we accept the penalty. It is a real shame to leave here with so few points: we could have achieved two fourth places but… The meeting with Bastianini certainly played a role but we are not looking for excuses, I played well with the tyre pressure up to this moment. Let’s finish this weekend and focus on Germany.”
11. Jack Miller (KTM): “We improved last night and were able to ride a little better pace and I had a nice fight and was able to gain confidence. The change we made gave me more feeling with the front of the bike and I was happy with that. This is a base level to restart with and I’m crossing my fingers that we can make some more improvements.”
12. Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha): “I expected to do better at the beginning, especially in the first few laps. With the softs, the grip was poor. Throughout the race, the grip was much worse than I expected. I couldn’t really push. In the end, I felt a little better from the middle of the race, but the pace was already too slow. Let’s see if we can improve at the Sachsenring.”
13. Johann Zarco (LCR Honda): “We made a good step; the fight for the points was important for us. Compared to yesterday’s sprint, we have the situation better under control, which is positive. We are working hard to be at the level of our competitors. Overall, I felt comfortable on the bike and I’m happy that I enjoyed today’s race.”
14. Augusto Fernandez (GasGas): “I didn’t have a good feeling on the bike at any point during the weekend, so it was very difficult for me here. After the sprint we were hoping for improvements today, but the feeling didn’t really get any better. We managed to finish the race, which I’m happy about anyway, as I had two early DNFs in the last few laps. Now we’re on to Germany and we’ll see if we can be a bit more competitive at the Sachsenring.”
15. Miguel Oliveira (Trackhouse): “It was a decent first half of the race where I was able to set competitive lap times. I didn’t manage to repeat my great start from yesterday, especially on the first lap. Later on I didn’t see the track limit warning on my dashboard and when I saw it I just had to do a long lap. When I tried to do that to lose as little time as possible I went wide and into the gravel, lost a lot of time there and had to repeat the whole thing. That was as good as the race was over. On to the next one!”
16. Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda): “Today’s race was tough, I couldn’t push as much as I wanted. We are struggling. I tried to fight for the points and almost achieved that goal. We will see if we can improve next week at the Sachsenring.”
17. Luca Marini (Honda): “This weekend has been full of bad luck for us. In today’s race I had the pace to fight with Zarco. Augusto Fernandez touched me at the start of the race and I ended up in the gravel trap, which made me lose a lot of time. I really thought I had the potential to finish in the points. It’s clear that we need to keep working and I think a fast track like Assen gives us insight into which areas are most critical. It’s really good that we now have the Sachsenring to drive a better race before the next break.”
DNF Pedro Acosta (GasGas): “We have to look at the positive because even after a difficult weekend for us, we were able to be competitive in the race. It’s hard to understand the crash because in the last laps I had held back a bit to finish the race well. Maybe the tires cooled down too much, it was a strange accident. It’s a shame that the weekend ends like this, but we have to keep working because we are improving and getting closer and closer every weekend.”
DNF Joan Mir (Honda): “During the start I had made some progress and was in the group fighting for the top ten. I was happy with my pace and was able to pull away from the riders behind me. My feeling was getting better with each lap. In sector 1 I tried to regain the time I had lost in other parts of the track and in turn three I leaned a little too much and lost the front. I’m a rider who always tries to achieve more and sometimes that means you crash. That was the end of our race. We can see what we need to work on during the break.”
DNF Marco Bezzecchi (VR46): “I’ve struggled a lot all weekend: even today in the race I couldn’t get into the rhythm and then I crashed. I lost the front, the first throttle response is always complicated. I have understeer, the rear pushes a lot and in such situations it’s easy to crash. It’s a pity, it’s a difficult moment, but we’re not giving up and we’re continuing to work to get closer.”
DNF Alex Rins (Yamaha): “I crashed very badly at the start. I’m already on my way to Madrid where I will undergo further medical examinations to determine the severity of the injuries to my right wrist and right foot. I hope to have news soon.”
