Subaru’s fully electric crossover model has been on the market since 2022. The vehicle is built together with its sister model, the Toyota bZ4X. On the shared platform, Subaru installs an electric unit consisting of an electric motor on the front and rear axles with 109 hp. The 71.4 kWh battery has a maximum range of 466 kilometers. It is charged with up to 150 kW on the fast charger. The manufacturer estimates the charging time at around 30 minutes from 10 to 80 percent.

The entry-level “Comfort” version offers numerous standard amenities such as two-zone automatic climate control with heated front seats, a ten-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with a 7-inch digital cockpit, an electrically opening tailgate, LED headlights and taillights, and automatically folding exterior mirrors. Safety is ensured by the 360-degree panoramic camera, the emergency braking system with collision warning, traffic sign recognition, adaptive high beam, and the lane change, blind spot, and cross traffic assistant.

Manageable registration numbers, extended environmental bonus

Since its market launch, according to the Federal Motor Transport Authority in Germany, only 257 units have been registered up to and including 2023. Subaru now wants to gain more momentum and customers for the electric car – and what better way to do that than by turning the price screw.

The brand’s first electric car will therefore be available immediately at prices starting at 49,990 euros. This means that, depending on the equipment, a price advantage of up to 8,500 euros is possible. The environmental bonus is also being extended. If the Solterra ordered is registered by the end of the year at the latest, customers can save a further 7,500 euros. Overall, this would be a price advantage of up to 16,000 euros compared to the regular price. There is a catch, however, because you have to be quick: the promotion is valid from July 1, 2024 to September 30, 2024 in conjunction with the purchase of an immediately available new or demonstration vehicle from a participating Subaru partner. Registration/transfer of ownership must also be completed by October 31, 2024 at the latest, and for vehicles ordered later by December 31, 2024 at the latest.
