Razgatlioglu wins Superpole race in Donington, Rea celebrates first Yamaha podium

Toprak Razgatlioglu also wins the sprint in Donington, celebrating his sixth victory in a row. In the afternoon he can secure the next triple from pole position. Nicolo Bulega secures second place and thus overtakes his teammate Bautista in the drivers’ championship. Third place goes to Jonathan Rea, who can celebrate his first podium for Yamaha.

Scott Redding finished fourth after a tough battle against Alex Lowes, Alvaro Bautista and Andrea Locatelli. Danilo Petrucci secured the last point in the sprint.

This is how the race in Donington went:

BEGIN: Bulega takes the lead and gets away better than Razgatlioglu! Behind him are Jonathan Rea, Sam Lowes and Domi Aegerter. Redding has dropped back to P7 behind Andrea Locatelli.

Round 02/10: Aegerter loses two positions, Locatelli and Redding have passed. Meanwhile, Axel Bassani crashes in the first sector. Alvaro Bautista is tenth. Aegerter goes wide in turn nine and takes the emergency exit, losing another position.

Round 03/10: Razgatlioglu increases the pressure on Bulega. Rea has managed to get a little clear of Lowes and Locatelli. In turn eleven, Razgatlioglu joins Bulega and takes the lead.

Round 05/10: Razgatlioglu checks out at the front and sets the new fastest lap. Locatelli pushes past Sam Lowes in the first sector and is now fourth behind his teammate Rea. A little later, Locatelli makes a mistake and A. Lowes, Bautista and Gardner slip through.

Round 06/10: Hard battle between Alex Lowes and Alvaro Bautista for sixth place. Scott Redding and Sam Lowes gain time. Redding passes in turn eleven for fourth place.

Round 07/10: Razgatlioglu leads by one second ahead of Bulega, Rea is now more than two seconds ahead of Redding. Alex Lowes overtakes his brother and is now fifth. Bautista and Locatelli follow him.

Round 09/10: There is a battle for fourth and eighth place in a group of four. Redding is currently leading the first group in fourth place. However, Alex Lowes is hot on his heels.

Round 10/10: Alex Lowes is next and is preparing a maneuver against Redding. Bautista and Locatelli are lurking behind him.

GOAL: TOPRAK RAZGATLIOGLU WINS! The BMW man is unbeatable and wins the sprint ahead of Nicolo Bulega and Jonathan Rea. Scott Redding takes fourth place ahead of Alex Lowes and Alvaro Bautista.
