“It’s been a wild ride with Nico Müller and it’s not over yet. But at the end of the season, our favorite Swiss driver will leave Team Peugeot to write a new chapter in his racing career,” the French brand’s motorsport department said via social media.
Nico Müller: Peugeot exit a few days after Abt’s departure from Formula E
But already in May he confirmed to Motorsport-Magazin.com that his contract would expire after 2024. Müller announced his departure from his two current racing cockpits within a few days of the Peugeot announcement. It was only announced on Tuesday that he would be leaving Abt-Cupra for the upcoming Formula E season.
At the moment it is not known where Müller will end up. Just as in Formula E with Abt-Cupra, he was not placed with any of the top teams in the World Endurance Championship with his Peugeot cockpit. In two and a half years with the French team, he did not make it onto the podium once in the Hypercar class. The goal for the remaining three WEC races in Austin, Fuji and Bahrain is to finish in the top three once.
