Motorsport in Germany is alive! 240,000 spectators attended the 52nd edition of the 24h Nürburgring on the long weekend. This means that 5,000 more visitors traveled to the Eifel classic than in 2023. The racing fans were not deterred by the long break after the race had to be interrupted with red flags at 11:22 p.m. on Saturday due to fog.

The existing spectator record at the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring is coming ever closer, but still remains: In 2011, 250,000 fans traveled to the Eifel.

More advance sales than in 2023 – Traffic chaos at the Nürburgring

The huge rush for tickets had already become apparent in the run-up to this year’s race. According to information from Motorsport-Magazin.com The organizer ADAC Nordrhein had sold 8,000 more tickets in advance than in the previous year. Interest did not wane despite the cancellation of the popular Adenauer Racing Day on Wednesday due to a major construction site.

The rush to the race was not without consequences: On Saturday morning, the traffic situation was the big topic in the paddock. A traffic jam chaos at the Nordschleife resulted in traffic jams stretching for kilometers.

All of the campsites around the race track were full before the race started, and there were no more pitches for camper vans. However, there were still enough pitches available for day visitors who had arrived by car, some of which were even specially gravelled to make the journey to and from the event as easy as possible.

Date for 24h Nürburgring 2025 has been set

The date for the 2025 Nürburgring 24-hour race has already been set: From June 19 to 22, 2025, the Nordschleife will once again be transformed into the biggest racing party in Germany.
