Pole position for Joe Roberts! In the Moto2 qualifying, he secured the best starting position for the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday for the fifth time in his career. Sergio Garcia had to admit defeat by a hair’s breadth, missing Roberts by just 0.078 seconds on his best lap. Alonso Lopez will start from third place.
Manuel Gonzalez, Darryn Binder and Marcos Ramirez make up the second row. The top 10 were completed by Mattia Pasini, Somkiat Chantra, Aron Canet and Celestino Vietti. Fermin Aldeguer suffered a setback: Due to neck problems, the MotoGP rider in training sat out qualifying to undergo further medical examinations. If he is able to start the race on Sunday, the Boscoscuro rider will start from 18th place.
