Italian on paper, Austrian at heart. Most of the time he is busy with Formula 1, but he also likes to be involved in other racing series.MORE
It goes two weeks after the Miami GP Formula 1 starts in Imola this weekend. It’s the next stage in a hot update race, with a revised Ferrari eagerly awaited in front of the home crowd. The future of the premier class in Austria has been clarified since the end of 2023.
Formula 1 will remain on ORF and ServusTV at the same time until 2026. As in recent years, the public TV broadcaster and the Red Bull broadcaster will share the free live broadcast of all races between them.
ServusTV holds the rights to the premier class, while ORF acts as a sublicensee. Both channels each broadcast half of all 24 Grands Prix. However, there is a change for 2022 and 2023. The Austrian Grand Prix will be broadcast alternately in the future and not on both TV stations at the same time, as in recent years.
This was implemented at short notice in 2023. The ORF received the GP exclusively because the Formula 1 race in Imola was canceled. In 2024, ServusTV will broadcast the GP in Spielberg, in 2025 the ORF and in 2026 the Red Bull channel again.
At the same time as this announcement, it was also announced who will broadcast which Grands Prix this Formula 1 season. Who will broadcast the next race? ServusTV shows the race in Imola 2024.
