Now it seems that it is finally over for Fisker. Just a year ago, four new fully electric models were introduced. The future of the company around Henry Fisker seemed promising. One summer later, everything is different. At the beginning of the year, the company was already in turmoil and financial difficulties. After the production of the Ocean electric SUV was stopped at the Magna plant in Austria and the associated job cuts, the company filed for bankruptcy in the US court in June. The company is now asking for permission to sell the remaining stock of vehicles at an extremely low price.

They want to look for buyers with discounts of up to 80 percent. In the USA, a brand new Ocean would have cost the equivalent of around 65,000 euros. On average, they now want to offer the vehicles for 14,000 US dollars. They seem to have already found a big customer. American Leasing, a company that provides vehicles for Uber and Lyft, is said to be interested in 3,231 used Fisker Oceans.
In total, the emergency sale is expected to bring in approximately 46 million US dollars and will be used to pay outstanding payments and the wages of the remaining employees – assuming a positive outcome of the insolvency proceedings.
