Not all of them are just show runs. A small selection of participants will also take part in the famous Shootout on Sunday, a timed race that has been held since 1993. For years, Nick Heidfeld held the record here with a legendary run in the Formula 1 McLaren MP4/13. It was not until 2022 that he was beaten by Max Chilton in the electric McMurtry Speirling with a total time of 39.08 seconds.

Goodwood celebrates Niki Lauda’s career & Mercedes’ history
As has been the case for years, Mercedes is also bringing a modern Formula 1 car to Goodwood. Reserve driver Frederik Vesti will be at the wheel of the 2021 W12. This time it is part of a major show run series with which the Stuttgart-based company is celebrating 130 years of motorsport. Also on display will be Grand Prix cars from the 1930s, sports prototypes from the 80s and 90s and numerous GT models.
