After 35 minutes: Frijns ahead of Harper and returning Mies
BMW double lead after 25 minutes
Raffaele Marciello takes the lead again with his second lap in the #98 Rowe-BMW. Sheldon van der Linde in the Rowe sister car is in second place, 3 seconds behind. Behind him are three Mercedes-AMG GT3s driven by Fabian Schiller, Frank Bird and Adam Christodoulou. In sixth place is the RMG-BMW with Dan Harper at the wheel.
#DaciaWatch
Yes, of course we also have our eye on the Dacia Logan. We know how much you like this crazy racing project. The #318 Dacia has just completed its first lap with Kriese at the wheel. We recorded a time of 12:22.199. Second to last place of the 55 cars that have set a time so far.
Marciello in the BMW in front
A bit historic: Raffaele Marciello has just taken the lead in the timesheets with a time of 8:56 – in his first official 24-hour race for BMW! The GT3 superstar came from Mercedes-AMG and is now racing for the Munich-based company. Lello is driving the #98 Rowe-BMW (Marciello/Martin/Wittmann/Farfus). Meanwhile, the #502 Giti-BMW 330i is off the track.

Qualifying start: The first cars on the track
More than half of the starting field has set off for the first lap. The rain has stopped and parts of the track are wet. We mainly spot slick tires on the different cars in the individual classes. “Rain is cool too, just not when camping,” says Grello driver Kevin Estre, looking at the fans.

Race director Hornung asks for a conversation
Arno from the track: The large media center is currently available to the hundreds of participants because the race management is once again pointing out special features and strict compliance with the rules! Race director Walter Hornung insists on strict compliance with the rules, especially in the weather conditions and for safety reasons! In the past, countless penalties have had a significant impact on the overall and class results!
What is the 24-hour qualifying actually about?
Weather today at the Nürburgring
I hope you all packed your umbrellas and Nordschleife rubber boots! Today we can expect a rainy day at the Ring. It is supposed to stay wet until late in the evening, and the rain is only expected to recede a little from around 9 p.m. That certainly won’t do any harm, as night qualifying is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Then the drivers and teams could at least get used to the mixed conditions. Temperatures are currently around 14 degrees, and it is expected to cool down to 10 degrees at night.
Driver adaptation at GetSpeed-Mercedes
Exciting change in the SP9 line-up of victory contender GetSpeed-Mercedes: Adam Christodoulou is now listed as a double starter on the two Mercedes-AMG GT3s with the starting numbers #8 (Auer/Christodoulou/Ellis/Grenier) and #130 (Engel/Gounon/Schiller/Christodoulou). This is GetSpeed’s reaction to the weather forecast, which is known to include a lot of rain. In the event of a race interruption and with a view to the minimum driving times, the Mercedes customer team could use the change to better plan its tactics.
