Important – Update on traffic chaos
Important information from the police and organizers: Ring fans who are on their way to the Nordschleife should note the following information from the police and the organizers: The chaos on the Nordschleife has resulted in traffic jams that stretch for miles. All of the campsites around the race track are full, and there are no more parking spaces for motorhomes. However, there are still enough parking spaces available for day visitors who arrive by car, some of which are specially graveled to make the journey to and from the track as easy as possible. However, spectators who have only bought a day ticket are not allowed to park their cars on the Adenauer Forst section of the track.
Start of the starting grid
The official starting grid for the 24h Nürburgring begins at 2:45 p.m.! This means that the grid will be packed! It’s always a great sight when the racing cars can hardly be seen because of the crowds. We will of course also show you the starting grid in the live stream.
Traffic chaos around the ring
Arno from the track: The organizer ADAC Nordrhein will be pleased, all other participants experienced an unpleasant surprise on Saturday morning, which also Motorsport-Magazin.com was affected. It took me a whopping 75 minutes to get from the hotel to the paddock, which was around seven kilometers long – and that was despite using back roads away from the main roads. The media center was also affected by the large number of fans, because the staff who make the media’s job easier by answering various requests were in a kilometer-long queue, as were caterers who are responsible for food, drinks and catering for the organizers.
