Race Facts: Preview Race 13
The 13th stop of the regular season is Darlington Raceway. The ‘Lady in Black’ at Darlington is loved and feared by drivers. So far there have been 125 races on the traditional circuit. Between 1960 and 2004, two events were held annually. The 1.336 mile long egg-shaped oval opened with the first race in 1950 and is a superspeedway. Darlington also hosted the first-ever 500-mile NASCAR race. The 2005 season saw the first night race in Darlington, meaning there was only one event per year.

In the Corona year 2020, three races were held over different distances. Since the season before last, there has been an event in May over 293 (Stages: 90/95/108) laps and a playoff night race in September over 367 (Stages: 115/115/137) laps.
The first two curves have an elevation of 25 degrees. Curves three and four, on the other hand, have a smaller radius with a banking of 23 degrees. The course describes an egg-shaped layout, which is unusual for ovals. The elevation of the home straight and the back straight is only six degrees.
The vehicles will once again provide a visual journey into the past in so-called ‘throwback designs’. However, many beautiful paint jobs will come to an end at the edges of the track, in the famous Darlington stripes.
Fuel window: 70-74 rounds
Goodyear Tire Notes: 10 sets of tires (+1 set/qualifying)

Driver Ranking 12/2024
Top 20 after the 12th race of the 2024 season in Kansas City
Motorsport-Magazin.com determines the current form of all NASCAR drivers after each race, based on the results of the last six races.
Kyle Larson remains our number one for the second year in a row. After his second win of the season at Kansas Speedway, the Chevrolet driver is top of the rankings for the third time this season. He also leads the rankings with the best value after twelve races in 2024.
His Hendrick teammate Chase Elliott remains second ahead of the three Toyota drivers Martin Truex Junior, Denny Hamlin and Tyler Reddick. Alex Bowman follows at a distance in sixth place, although he is slowly improving. Kyle Busch, Chris Buescher and Noah Gragson were also able to improve a few positions. The ninth-placed Gragson remains the positive surprise of the season so far.
Joey Logano fell eight positions and was the big loser in Kansas. Christopher Bell, rookie Josh Berry and Todd Gilliland made a comeback in the top 20. However, rookie Carson Hocevar, Daniel Suarez and Austin Cindric are missing this week.
