MULTAN: Senior Vice President and Chief Organizer of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Maryam Nawaz Sharif declared on Sunday that the era of temptation and mischief had come to an end with the burial, and a new era of development and prosperity had commenced.
Speaking at the Youth Convention of PML (N) in Tehsil Shujaabad, Maryam expressed her deep sadness and shock over the desecration of martyrs. She vowed that the nation would pursue those responsible for the desecration and the burning of army installations until justice prevailed.
Referring to the mastermind of the May 9 tragedy, she accused him of hiding in Zaman Park and shifting the blame onto innocent workers whenever questioned. Maryam emphasized that true leaders never abandon their workers, citing the example of her father, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, who stood by his daughter and willingly went to jail.
Maryam stated that the mastermind, who claimed this country was unsafe for his children, was responsible for making the country unsafe by setting it on fire. She questioned whether those who desecrated martyrs deserved mercy or forgiveness, affirming that the country’s protectors would hold accountable those involved in causing harm to the nation.
Maryam highlighted the hypocrisy of someone who orchestrated the arrest of innocent children for his own political interests, while ensuring the safety of his own children in London.
She pointed out that a group that once boasted about making PML (N) cry with arrogance was now shedding tears. She revealed that the same person who feared imprisonment had ordered the burning of military installations, and now, in the face of an armed rebellion against the army, was begging for talks.
Maryam Nawaz ridiculed Imran Khan, stating that while he aimed to break the Muslim League-N, his own party had crumbled, and its members could easily fit into a mini vehicle. She mocked how Imran Khan had claimed to have built his party in 26 years, but it fell apart in 26 seconds, just as it was formed on an airplane and disintegrated on the same plane.
Maryam stressed that Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, being a son of the soil and a servant of the nation, could not be broken. She reminisced about her father’s visits to Shujaabad, even during Pervez Musharraf’s illegal takeover. Despite the repeated injustices suffered by Nawaz Sharif and his government being overthrown, he never incited chaos or urged people to set the country on fire.
Maryam expressed gratitude to the incumbent government for presenting a commendable budget, crafted by Shahbaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar, which increased government employees’ salaries by 35% and forgave the debts of widows. She promised the people that development could resume once Nawaz Sharif returned.

Maryam emphasized the importance of providing skills and employment opportunities to the youth, rather than encouraging violence. She shared her vision of introducing modern agricultural technologies for national development and transforming Shujabad into a city akin to Lahore.
She stated that if PML-N regained power, it could change the destiny of the entire country. Maryam assured the people of Shujaabad that better days were approaching. She commended the entire PML-N leadership in Multan, emphasizing their closeness to her heart.
