
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed on Monday his confidence in the budget 2023-24, stating that despite the constraints imposed by domestic and global circumstances, it holds the promise of turning things around and lays out a clear path for progress.
In a tweet, the prime minister emphasized that achieving economic self-sufficiency remains the primary goal, aiming to insulate the economy from external turbulence and shocks.
Prime Minister Shehbaz highlighted the special emphasis placed on growth-inducing sectors in the budget, which was carefully crafted after thorough deliberations. Noteworthy measures were proposed to uplift the information technology, agriculture, solarization, youth development, and other vital sectors.
“These measures aim to incentivize innovation and entrepreneurship among our talented youth, boost agricultural productivity, and attract investment in the agro-industry,” he stated.

Simultaneously, the prime minister revealed that the government is actively working on a solarization initiative to replace costlier sources of power generation by harnessing the abundant solar power available in the country. He recognized that affordable energy is crucial for economic growth and providing relief to the people. Additionally, the procurement of crude oil from Russia forms part of the comprehensive energy security plan.
