Karachi: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has experienced unprecedented achievements through its Digital Champion campaign, capitalizing on its extensive network and the unwavering dedication of its staff in assisting customers with NBP Digital Banking. Over the course of eight months, more than 250,000 debit cards were activated through the NBP mobile app, thanks to the collective effort of 7,500 NBP staff members from 98% of the bank’s branches.

In a special event held at the NBP Head Office, the bank recognized the exceptional contributions of its staff and regional teams involved in the campaign. NBP acknowledged the winners and rewarded them for fostering healthy competition that supports the ongoing digital transformation journey.

Expressing his perspective, Rehmat Ali Hasnie, President and CEO (A) of NBP, emphasized the importance of involving and motivating the bank’s staff to achieve its goals. He highlighted the initiation of a digital transformation project aimed at keeping pace with industry trends and modernizing the institution.

Speaking at the occasion, Muhammad Hamayun Sajjad, SEVP/Chief Digital Officer of NBP, stated the bank’s commitment to revolutionizing the banking experience through empathetic digital solutions that prioritize financial inclusion. NBP’s dedicated staff plays a pivotal role in guiding customers towards essential digital banking services. Within a year, NBP achieved remarkable milestones, including a 100% year-on-year increase in NBP Digital App registrations, a substantial 100% growth in debit card point-of-sale transactions, and digital transactions worth over a trillion rupees. Through collaborative efforts, NBP is transforming the banking landscape for both customers and employees with innovative digital product offerings.
