Sheikh Umer Rehan’s Election as PVMA Chairman Marks a New Chapter in Industry Leadership

KARACHI: Sheikh Umer Rehan has been elected unopposed as the Chairman of the Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA) for the 2024-26 term. Alongside him, Asjad Arif was elected Senior Vice Chairman, and Khalid Islam Sheikh was named Vice Chairman, both unanimously chosen for their roles.

Sheikh Umer Rehan, a well-regarded figure in the business community, has held prestigious positions such as President of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) and Advisor to the President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). His extensive leadership experience has garnered him great respect in the industry.

The election results were announced by the Secretary General of PVMA during the 80th Annual General Body Meeting, held at the FPCCI Capital House in Islamabad. PVMA members and its Executive Committee congratulated Sheikh Umer Rehan on his election, expressing confidence that his leadership would help address the key challenges facing the ghee and cooking oil sectors.

During the event, outgoing Chairman Sheikh Abdul Razzak was given a formal farewell, while Sheikh Umer Rehan was warmly welcomed to his new role. Both leaders addressed the gathering, discussing the industry’s challenges, including regulatory obstacles and market pressures. In his address, Sheikh Umer Rehan thanked the members for their trust, assuring them that he would focus on resolving the industry’s pressing issues.
