New Delhi. ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, released in 2011, is one of Hrithik Roshan’s popular films. Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol were also seen in important roles in it. The story of three friends narrated in the film was a hit in the theatres, but it was not easy for Hrithik Roshan to agree to ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ because his close ones believed that he was making the biggest mistake of his career.
In the year 2021, Hrithik Roshan revealed during an interview that his father Rakesh Roshan’s friends had forbidden him from working in ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, but he did not listen to anyone and agreed to do the film. In a conversation with ETimes, Hrithik Roshan said, ‘I remember that when I signed this film, many of my father’s friends expressed their concern about me. They felt that I was making a big mistake, because I was playing one of the three characters and it was definitely not the main character. It was not like I am the hero of the film and Farhan-Abhay are playing small roles in the film.’
‘I had faith in the story of the film’
Hrithik Roshan further said, ‘At that time the rule was that you have to maintain the star status and I knew that this film is completely opposite, but the film empowered me in a way because it is a story that I believed in and I thought to hell with the status. That is something that people give you.’
The film was a big hit at the box office
Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ hit the theatres in 2011 and the film received great reviews from critics. This movie proved to be a big hit at the box office. ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ did a business of around 90 crores across the country and the total earnings of the film worldwide were 176 crores. It was directed by Farhan Akhtar’s sister Zoya Akhtar. Kalki Koechlin and Katrina Kaif were also a part of this movie.
