Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor has been away from films for a long time but is very happy with the careers of his daughters Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. In an old interview, he had talked about the film career of Karisma and Kareena. He had said that he had not contributed to the career of his daughters and he is a bad father.

Randhir Kapoor, who is 77 years old, said in an interview, ‘I feel proud of both my daughters. They have made their own place in the film industry. I give full credit for this to Babita who raised both the daughters by working hard. When Karisma and Kareena were young, I never thought that they would become such big artists. I am very proud that my daughters worked very hard to achieve success and I did not help them in this.’

Described himself as a bad father

Randhir had called himself a bad father in an interview and said, ‘I have been a bad father and I am a little crazy. Everyone knows that I am a little crazy, I do not want to work hard, I have worked in many films and even now I keep getting offers but I do not say yes to them. I have earned in my life and now my children are earning much more than me. I have everything – money, food, clothes and house, so what more do I need. Why should I run around from morning to night at this age?’

Made her debut with ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’

Randhir Kapoor debuted as an actor in 1971 with the film ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’. The 1972 film ‘Jawani Diwani’ was his biggest hit. From 1976 to 1981, Randhir appeared in many multi-starrer films, including films like ‘Chacha Bhatija’, ‘Kasme Vaade’, ‘Mama Bhanja’, ‘Heera Lal Panna Lal’, ‘Biwi O Biwi’.

After the film ‘Harjai’ flopped in 1981, Randhir Kapoor stopped getting films as a hero and he started getting side roles. Disheartened by this, he distanced himself from acting. His last film as a lead actor was Khazana, which was released in 1987.

Randhir Kapoor married actress Babita on 6 November 1971. After this, they had two daughters Karisma and Kareena.
