1990s superstar heroine Mamta Kulkarni has been acquitted in a drug case. Recently, the Bombay High Court ordered the cancellation of the FIR registered against Kulkarni due to lack of evidence. Kulkarni had filed a petition saying that she has been made a scapegoat in the drug case. After hearing her petition, a bench of Justice Bharti Dangre and Justice Manjusha Deshpande said that there is no evidence against Kulkarni other than the allegations leveled against her in the FIR.
Actually, this whole case is of 2016. At that time, Thane police raided pharmaceutical company Avon Lifesciences in Solapur and arrested 14 people. Police claimed that the accused had planned to use ephedrine. Ephedrine is used to make meth drug for parties. There was a plan to send this ephedrine to Kenya. Police claim that Mamta Kulkarni lived with the mastermind of this case, Vicky Goswami, in Kenya. On this basis, they made him an accused. Well, today we are not discussing this court decision but another story related to Mamta Kulkarni.
Actually, Mamta Kulkarni was counted among the top heroines in the nineties. She had crores of fans. Seeing her popularity, an MLA close to the then Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav had organized a dance program for her in Patna. The youth of entire Bihar were crazy about her hot moves.
During that time, the fodder scam was exposed in Bihar. The leaders and bureaucrats of Bihar had no dearth of money. Then what happened. A program of Mamta Kulkarni was organized in Patna. It is said that Mamta was given Rs. 1.25 crore for that program. Although officially Mamta had come to Bihar to perform in a private program of an MLA, many big leaders and bureaucrats had participated in that program. However, later the name of that MLA also came up in the fodder scam and he was arrested.
