New Delhi. Bollywood director-producer Vivek Agnihotri expresses his views openly on any issue. He is very active on social media. Apart from films, he is often seen expressing his views on every civil, political and social issue related to the country. Amidst all this, in his recent post, he expressed his concern over the condition of Mumbai’s roads during the monsoon. He targeted the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and tweeted criticizing them.
The Bollywood director shared a newspaper cutting on his official X account, which shows a picture of a truck stuck in a pothole on Bhandup’s Quarry Road. Commenting on BMC, Vivek Agnihotri wrote, ‘Pothole Safety: I have a brilliant, creative idea to prevent vehicles from sinking in potholes. @mybmc should put up signboards on each pothole proudly showing its depth. This will make drivers drive accordingly in these city swimming pools.
Reacting to Vivek’s post, Mumbai residents are expressing their disappointment. This negligence affects the city’s infrastructure every year during the monsoon season. The Municipal Corporation is often criticized for road repairs and maintenance.
Commenting on Vivek’s post, a user wrote, ‘We should not forget how many people have lost their loved ones due to potholes.’ Another user wrote, ‘BMC is doing a great job by making pits to collect rainwater, this is a great work.’ A third user wrote, ‘Why not make an app that can detect these potholes in advance through modern satellite pictures. It can give complete details of all the potholes in the city.
