Lyricist and poet Manoj Muntashir needs no introduction today. Recently, he has made a big revelation. He has told that there is a deep connection between Veer Zara’s hit song ‘Tere Liye’ and the 40-year-old classic song ‘Dil Dhoondta Hai’.

The tune of Shahrukh Khan and Preity Zinta-starrer song ‘Tere Liye’ from the 2004 romantic drama film ‘Veer-Zaara’ was created from the rejected tunes of Madan Mohan’s ‘Dil Dhoondta Hai’ from the 1975 film ‘Mausam’. This has been revealed by lyricist and poet Manoj Muntashir himself.

Big revelation made in singing show
Manoj Muntashir, who appeared in ‘Superstar Singer 3’, told that Madan Mohan’s original composition was appreciated by filmmaker Yash Chopra, who was also a big fan of Madan. Manoj said, ‘Decades later, while working on ‘Veer-Zaara’, Yash combined this tune with Javed Akhtar’s lyrics. It was a historic moment in Hindi cinema, when perhaps for the first time, a composer’s music was used in his honor, showing Madan’s continuing influence through the brilliant words of Javed Akhtar sahab.’
