Recently, Shekhar Suman revealed during an interview that many directors used to call Amitabh Bachchan an actor with a constipated face. At the same time, there were some producers who did not like Amitabh coming on the set.
Recently, during an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Shekhar Suman talked about Amitabh Bachchan’s early days in the film industry. He said, I know this because Shashi Kapoor told me. He said that there are many producers here who do not work without Amitabh Bachchan today, but at one time, he was the producer who used to say on seeing him, Oh my God, this actor with a hostile face has come again asking for work. Get him out of the set, who let him in. When he went to audition for the post of news reader in All India Radio, he was rejected due to his bad voice. What a big coincidence. Those people said that Amitabh Bachchan’s voice is not good. At the same time, some used to say that he is too tall.

Let us tell you that Amitabh Bachchan came to Kolkata from Allahabad (now Prayagraj) in search of work in 1963. After working in a shipping company, he came to Mumbai to try his luck. When he auditioned for All India Radio, Amin Sayani, the famous voice of that era, turned him away saying that people would get scared on hearing his voice.
After many days of hard work, Amitabh Bachchan got work in the 1969 film Saat Hindustani. He got 5 thousand rupees for this film of Khwaja Abbas.
