Producer Saurav Gupta recently accused Sunny Deol of fraud and extorting money. Saurav alleges that Sunny had signed a film with him years ago. According to the contract, Sunny was supposed to be given 1 crore as advance, but he took 2.5 crore rupees. Later, he tampered with the contract and arbitrarily increased the fees and profit sharing amount. Now Sunny Deol’s lawyer has responded to this allegation of the producer.
Yesterday, on Saturday, Sunny Deol’s lawyer Rizwan Merchant spoke to the media and denied all the allegations of Saurav Gupta. Rizwan said- No case has been filed against Sunny Deol. Just a simple complaint has been filed. Which can be made against anyone. The police will investigate this entire matter.
According to the Supreme Court guidelines, the police will record statements from both the complainant and the person against whom the complaint has been made. I did not use any specific words because no FIR has been filed.
He said- We have noted all the points written in the complaint. He had signed Sunny Deol for a film in 2016. An agreement was signed between the two with mutual consent. Some things related to Saurav Gupta’s company were decided, which he had to complete on the stipulated time. He had promised that he would pay the money on a specific date in the future.
But when the payment was not made on the stipulated time, a notice was sent to the producer from Sunny Deol’s office. Even after this the producer did not make the payment. Once again a notice was sent from Sunny’s office, in which it was written that this contract is being broken due to non-payment. Producer Saurabh has not given any answer to this either.
Finally we wrote to the producer that we are terminating this contract and are also confiscating the money given. The matter of confiscating the money was also written in this agreement. This decision was not only ours but was a part of the contract.
Now the other party is having a problem with the seized money. They are alleging that Sunny Deol had also talked about changing the director and the script. But there is no record of this. No proof has been presented for this. Only the allegation of twisting the case is being made. Rizwan further said- We are cooperating with the police. At present, Sunny is busy with his work.
This is the first time that such an allegation has been leveled against Sunny Deol. This will affect his career, his image and his respect as well as his family. Rizwan said that we just want to tell that all the allegations leveled against Sunny are baseless.
