Singer Daler Mehndi needs no praise. He has been active in the music industry for the last 30 years. His songs still add to the beauty of any party or gathering. Daler Mehndi’s new song Ankhiyan Te Ja Ladiya has been released. Daler had written the opening line of this song in 2008 itself.
Daler talked about the making of this song in an interview with Dainik Bhaskar. Apart from this, he also reacted to the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the singing department. Daler said that he is not afraid of AI at all. He has been in the industry for 30 years, his intentions are clear, so no technology can replace him at all.
Question- Where did the concept of the song Ankhiyan Te Ja Lariya come from?
answer- The pattern of this song is Balochi. Very few people know about it. I wrote the opening line of this song in 2008. After this, I started working on it again 5-6 years ago. Now imagine, it ended 3 months ago.
The special thing is that this song has been shot by my wife. In today’s songs you will find more vulgarity. Smoke, cigarettes and alcohol are seen in every song. You will not see anything like this in my song. It has been filmed in a completely neat and clean manner.
Daler Mehndi is 57 years old. He has recorded more than 150 songs.
Question- why did it take so long?
answer– This is a song of a very different level. It takes a lot of effort to sing such a song. It is not a normal song that can be recorded somehow. It took a lot of time because of the hard work.
Question: In this age of autotune, are the real singers getting left behind?
answer- See, those whose intentions are clean will surely get success in some way or the other. No injustice will happen to them.
Question: Nowadays, with the help of AI, any singer’s voice can be copied exactly. How harmful is this?
answer- I am not afraid of AI. Duplicate voice can be produced through AI, but feelings cannot be developed. My intentions are clear, so what can AI do?
Question: Which is your personal favorite song among the songs you have sung?
answer – Rang De Basanti’s song ‘Mohe-Mohe Tu Rang De Basanti’, ABCD’s Vande Mataram and Mirzya’s song Mirza Se Darre Khuda, these three are my favourites. Apart from this, I enjoy all the other songs a lot.
