Zarina Wahab went to veteran actor Raj Kapoor in search of work and Raj sahab rejected her as soon as he saw her. He also told the actress that she would never be able to become a heroine. During a conversation on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, Zarina told about her first film, ‘Someone told me that Dev Sahab is casting for his film ‘Ishq Ishq Ishq’, so you can get a role there. I immediately reached the set with all my photos. Without saying anything, without looking at anything, Dev Sahab passed by me and said we are working together, but I wrote my address and went from there’.

She further said, ‘After a week, Dev sahab called me to meet him. I again went to meet him with my photographs. But he did not even look at my photographs. He said, ‘You don’t need to see photographs to see if your face is photogenic’. The actress further says, ‘In those days, the eyes of a film director were like a camera’.
