After Sharad Kelkar and Mahesh Manjrekar, now Shahid Kapoor is also going to play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It is heard that the actor will soon be seen in the role of Shivaji in ‘OMG 2’ fame director Amit Rai’s next film.

Apart from Shahid, the makers have also approached Rana Daggubati for this film. He may be seen in the role of Aurangzeb in it.

This film can go on the floor by December 2024. It will be produced by famous South producer Dil Raju.

Shahid had earlier played the role of Raja Ratan Singh in the film ‘Padmaavat’. This is the only period drama film of his career.

Rana is the first choice of the makers
According to a report by Pinkvilla, Rana is director Amit’s first choice for the role of Aurangzeb in the film. However, the final discussion on this is yet to happen. Shahid is also very excited for this role.
