Raj Kumar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor recently appeared in the latest episode of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. They promoted their film ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’. During the conversation, Rajkummar Rao narrated the story of his struggling days. He told how he was promised a break in TV by extorting Rs 10,000 from him. But the very next day after taking the money, his entire office disappeared.
Rajkumar said that this was very filmy for him because he had never seen this happening in reality. The actor says that he used to go from Gurgaon to Delhi every day by bicycle.
My mother borrowed money for me
Rajkumar says that he did not know the difference between TV and films. He only wanted to act. He had read about a show coming on Zee TV in the newspaper. After seeing the ad in the newspaper, Rajkumar called on the given number. He called the actor for a meeting. Rajkumar’s mother had borrowed money from someone to fulfill his dream of becoming an actor.
Narrating the entire story, he said, that office looked very ordinary. The man sitting there had photos of everyone from Gulshan Grover to Raza Murad. Rajkumar thought that he knew everyone. That man told Rajkumar that he would have to pay Rs 10,000 for the photoshoot. His mother had borrowed money from someone and Rajkumar gave that money to that man.
Within a few days, the actor received a call and was told that he has been selected for TV. The actor was very happy to hear this. He felt as if he has achieved something big in life and now everything will be fine.
Rajkumar said- I was a big fan of Shahrukh Khan and followed his footsteps from television to cinema, so I thought everything was going well in my life. But when I went back after three days, the entire office had disappeared. The office was locked. When I asked the people around, they told me that those people had run away.
Let us tell you, Rajkumar and Janhvi’s film ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’ was released in theatres last Friday.
