In the film, he played the role of disabled industrialist Shrikant Bola. He will next be seen in Karan Johar’s film ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’.

Rajkummar Rao, during a conversation with Karan Johar and Janhvi Kapoor, talked about netpotism and told that he had to lose a film because of Starkid. According to the report of ‘HT’, Karan Johar said that people want to draw attention by taking part in the insider-outsider debate. He is skeptical of the claim that if you don’t become a part of Bollywood parties, roles are taken away from you.

Karan Johar has been accused of promoting nepotism in Bollywood, although it is not so that only star kids get opportunities in his films. They question the intentions of those debating nepotism. He says, ‘Very successful people are saying that I felt victimized like an outsider and lost my opportunity because of Starkid. Someone else says that I did not join the party, so I did not get the role. I don’t know which parties have anything to do with films.

In response to Karan Johar’s words, Rajkummar Rao narrates his personal experience and reveals that people advised him to attend Bollywood parties to increase his network. He said, ‘There is no problem in making contacts, but going to parties and saying that look, I have come here to make contacts, seems strange. I was supposed to do a film, but suddenly I was thrown out of the film. A star kid, whom people knew, got that role. I felt this was not right.
