New Delhi: Telugu film producer Mallemala Shyam Prasad Reddy’s wife M Varalakshmi was suffering from cancer. She breathed her last on Wednesday, August 7. According to media reports, the producer’s wife died at around 8:25 pm. M Varalakshmi is survived by her husband Shyam Prasad Reddy and two daughters Deepthi and Maithri.
Shyam Prasad Reddy’s wife M Varalakshmi was the daughter of late former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy. Varalakshmi’s death at the age of 62 has left a void in her family. According to a report by ‘123 Telugu’, her funeral took place at Jubilee Hills Maha Prasthanam at 3 pm on August 8. Soon after receiving the news of Varalakshmi’s death, Tollywood celebrities including megastar Chiranjeevi, Dil Raju and Allu Arvind visited Shyam Prasad Reddy’s residence this morning to offer their condolences.
Started with ‘Thalambralu’
Shyam Prasad Reddy is a prominent producer in the Telugu film industry. He founded Mallemala Entertainments and made his debut as a filmmaker in 1986 with ‘Thalambralu’. He has since produced several serials, including a popular comedy TV show ‘Jabardasth’. He is known for producing films such as Thalambralu, Ammoru, Aahuti, Ankusham, Anji and Arundhati. Notably, he has won three Nandi Awards.
Got popularity from comedy show ‘Jabardast’
Shyam Prasad Reddy is currently working as the producer of the comedy show ‘Jabardast’ which is being aired on the popular TV channel ETV since 7 February 2013. Produced by Mallemala Entertainments, this comedy television show was directed by Sanjeev K Kumar and later directed by Sanjeev’s partners Nithin and Bharat. The show brought a lot of popularity to the producer but the show was also surrounded by controversies.
