Producer Dada Satram Rohra, who made blockbuster films like ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’, has passed away. He breathed his last on July 18 at the age of 85. Dada Satram Rohra was a big name in the Sindhi community. Radio Sindhi informed about the death of Satram Rohra on Instagram. Today, i.e. on July 20, his prayer meeting has been organized at Sai Vasan Shah Darbar in Ulhasnagar.

May God rest his great soul in peace and give strength to his family in this difficult time. Dada Satram Rohra gave many superhit songs with Dada Ram Panjwani, Bhagwanti Navani, Kamala Keswani and many other famous singers. The demise of Dada Satram Rohra is a huge loss for the Sindhi community and no one can fill his void.
Satram Rohra was born on June 16, 1939 in Sindh (now in Pakistan). He entered the world of production in 1966 through the film ‘Shera Daku’. After this, he produced films like ‘Rocky Mera Naam’, ‘Ghar Ki Laaj’, ‘Nawab Sahib’ and ‘Jai Kali’. At the same time, the film ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’ released in the year 1975 proved to be a blockbuster film. This film gave a tough competition to Ramesh Sippy’s film ‘Sholay’.
‘Jai Santoshi Maa’ made such a record in the theatre that no other film has been able to make till date. According to reports, the budget of ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’ was only 5 lakh rupees, but it earned around 5 crore rupees at that time, which is 100 times more by today’s standards. At the same time, while watching the film, people used to shower money and flowers in the theatre. People started worshipping actress Anita Guha, who played the role of Maa Santoshi in the film, in real life as well.
