New Delhi. Music composer Pritam Chakraborty is known as the hit song machine for Bollywood films. He wrote, sang and composed every song in his career. The song ‘Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai’ from his early career was a huge hit. Apart from this, Pritam gave the music for the classical song ‘Aaoge Jab Tum’ from the film Jab We Met. At the same time, ‘Pahli Nazar’ from the film Race is still on people’s lips. Pritam has composed hundreds of songs in his career so far and has made films superhit with them. Once Pritam, while recalling his early days, told in an interview that when he finished his graduation, he was doing MSc in Geology. But he was not interested in studies. He joined a music band as a hobby and started playing guitar. During that time, he thought that he will give UPSC exam, if he is not able to become an IAS, then he will work in a bank or somewhere else.

During that time, he saw an advertisement of Pune Film Institute in a newspaper. Before this, he never knew that there was a film institute. There was a course of sound recording engineering in it. This was good for him because it was a subject related to film making. He became happy because it was a subject of his interest. For the family, it was a sound engineering course. So I could tell at home that I am going to do engineering.

Let us tell you that Pritam is quite famous for songs like Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai, Tum Se Hi, Aaoge Jab Tum (film Jab We Met), Alvida, Pehli Nazar Mein (film Race), Teri Or (film Singh Is King), Zara Sa (film Jannat), Tune Jo Na Kaha (film New York), Tum Mile, Sang Hoon Tere (Jannat 2), I’m in Love (Once Upon a Time), Phir Le Aaya Dil (Barfi), Party on My Mind, Gerua, Sari Ke Fall, Subah Hone Na De etc. All these songs of his were liked a lot by the audience.

Actually, the tune of the song ‘Pahli Nazar Mein’ was said to be stolen from the Korean song ‘Sarang Hi Yo’. At the same time, the song ‘Bulaiyya’ from the film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ was also accused of plagiarism. Pritam also gave an interview to Hindustan Times on this issue. He said that I made some mistakes in the beginning of my career, but many people also made false allegations against me.
