Neither marriage nor Nikah… so what will she do? What Sonakshi is going to do, Shahrukh to Kareena have done that work

New Delhi. These days, Sonakshi Sinha-Zaheer Iqbal’s marriage is in the news. The main reason for this is the religion of both. While Sonakshi believes in Hinduism, her lover Zaheer believes in Islam. In such a situation, speculations are being made whether Sonakshi will do Nikaah or take seven rounds with Zaheer. Whichever religion the couple will marry, it is obvious that there will be a lot of good and bad reactions on it. But the news that has come out about the couple’s marriage clearly shows that both will get married without changing their religion. To avoid controversies and to marry Zaheer, Sonakshi has adopted the third way. She can get permission to marry without changing her religion only through the Special Marriage Act 1954. On getting married under this Act, Sona will not have to change her religion and she will live her life like other stars.

Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan also got married under the Special Marriage Act 1954. The same problem that is being faced by Sonakshi and Zaheer had come in Shahrukh’s life when he was going to marry Gauri who believed in Hinduism. To avoid controversies and without converting their religion, both of them got married in court. Shahrukh married Gauri in court on 6 August 1991. After this, both of them got married and on 25 October 1991, Shahrukh and Gauri got married according to Hindu customs.

These stars also adopted this path
Like Shahrukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan first had a court marriage with Amrita Singh. However, later both of them got divorced. After getting divorced from Amrita, Saif then had a court marriage with Kareena Kapoor under Special Marriage Act 1954. Kareena also made Saif her life partner without changing her religion. Aamir Khan Kiran Rao, Aamir Khan-Reena Dutta also got married under this act. Swara Bhaskar also got married to Fahad Zirar Ahmed under this act. Now Sonakshi Sinha is also thinking of moving forward in her life by following this act.

Know what is Special Marriage Act
Special Marriage Act 1954, also known as SMA, is a law for civil marriage which gives the right to conduct marriages to the state instead of religion. Things like marriage, divorce, adoption of a child are determined under religious rules which have been given the form of a separate law. These are called personal laws. Muslim Marriage Act 1954 and Hindu Marriage Act 1955 come under this law. But in SMA, people of two different religions (not only Hindu or Muslim) can get married without converting or losing their religious identity. Both civil and religious marriages are accepted in India. It includes people of Indian religions which include Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Buddhists. There are some conditions in this rule but they do not seem to be conditions that come in the way of any religion.
