Munjya Box Office Collection Day 1: Horror-comedy ‘Munjya’ shines, earns double the expected amount on the first day

Mumbai. Sharvari Wagh starrer horror-comedy ‘Munjya’ has made a great start at the box office. According to trade analyst Saconilk, ‘Munjya’ has collected Rs 3.75-4 crore on the first day. The film received a positive response as time passed on the first day. With the modest advance booking, it was being estimated that the film would be limited to Rs 2 crore, but on the very first day it has collected more than expected. According to this collection, it is believed that the film will earn Rs 13-15 crore in the first weekend.

The positive word of mouth publicity of ‘Munjya’ has forced the audience to visit the theatres in large numbers. Now Monday’s collection will decide how much the film earns. The film is set in Pune and Konkan region.

Munjya is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. The film is based on a Marathi folktale. The film stars Mona Singh, Sharvari, Abhay Verma and Satyaraj. ‘Munjya’ tells the story of a mythological ghostly man of the same name and how he wreaks havoc in Bittu’s life. In the film, Mona plays the role of Pammi, who is a single mother and is overprotective of Bittu.

Aditya Sarpotdar directed Munjya along with the makers of ‘Stree’ and ‘Bhediya’. ‘Munjya’ is shown as the first CGI main character in a Hindi film. Mona Singh told ANI about the film that she is very excited to work in it. She said that there will be a lot of drama and fun in it. She described the film as a hardcore comedy.
