‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ Review: Rajkumar-Jhanvi’s pairing overshadows the weak story

Two talented Bollywood stars Rajkumar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor are once again seen together on the big screen. Their film ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’ has been released in theatres today. Once again filmmaker Karan Johar has expressed his trust in Janhvi. Now it remains to be seen how Janhvi lives up to Karan’s expectations. Directed by Sharan Sharma, this is a romantic sports drama film, which is worth watching in theatres at least once.

This is a family film, which you can watch with your entire family. The story of the film is based on a frustrated person who cannot see the success of others. He gets jealous. He becomes very selfish and Rajkumar is seen playing the role of that person, whose name is Mahendra ‘Mahi’ Agarwal, who wants to become a cricketer, but becomes something else. Veteran actor Kumud Mishra will be seen playing the role of Mahendra’s father.

Even after several attempts, Mahendra does not get selected and his father makes him sit in his sports shop. Mahendra also has a younger brother, who is a TV star, whose stardom makes his father very happy, and Mahendra is jealous. Anyway, Mahendra gets married to Mahima ‘Mahi’ Agarwal, whose role you will see Janhvi Kapoor playing. Mahendra’s life changes with the arrival of Mahima. Mahima also wanted to become a cricketer since childhood, but she becomes a doctor because of her father.

On one hand, Mahendra is unable to play cricket because of his father, while on the other hand, Mahima also has to give up cricket because of her father. Now you must be thinking that when both of them have given up playing cricket, then what is going to happen next in the film? Now to know this, you will have to go to the theatres and watch the entire film. If we talk about acting in the film, then from Rajkumar-Jhanvi Kapoor to Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, Abhishek Banerjee, everyone has done justice to their characters.

Now if we talk about the story, there is nothing new in it. So it is a bit difficult for me to say that you people will like this film a lot. Still, you can watch it at least once because of the acting as well as the direction. Only time will tell what effect this film is going to have on the box office, but you are going to like the pairing of Jhanvi with Rajkumar in the film. The chemistry of both of them will win your heart. By the way, the first half of the film is a bit slow, due to which you will definitely feel a bit bored, but by the second half the story of the film starts moving at a good speed. The story after the interval is quite solid.

Talking about music, Aadesh Shrivastava, Vishal Mishra, Tanishk Bagchi will definitely give you peace. Overall, this is a one time watchable film. 3 stars for ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’ from me.
