Mumbai. Sanoj Mishra, director of the controversial film ‘The Diary of West Bengal’, has reportedly gone missing during his trip to Kolkata. According to media reports, Sanoj was called by the Kolkata Police for questioning regarding his film. He has been unreachable since he arrived in the city and his phone has been switched off for the last 48 hours.
The controversy over ‘The Diary of West Bengal’ started after the release of its trailer earlier this year. The film, which depicted violence in West Bengal, was heavily criticized, due to which Sanoj received threats from many places. The situation worsened further when the West Bengal Police issued a legal notice to him, accusing the film of tarnishing the image of the state.
