Kolkata Doctor Murder Case: Mimi Chakraborty gets rape threat, former TMC MP expresses her pain, shows screenshot

New Delhi: After the intervention of the Supreme Court, the hope of justice in the Kolkata doctor murder case has increased, but on the other hand, a lot of politics is also being done on this. When actor and former TMC MP Mimi Chakraborty, along with other film stars, protested against the murder and rape case of the 31-year-old doctor, she started receiving rape and murder threats on social media. Riddhi Sen, Arindam and Madhumita Sarkar joined Mimi Chakraborty in the protest.

When Mimi came on Platform X, she shared screenshots of the threats she received on Instagram. She wrote in the post, ‘And we are demanding justice for women? Here are some of them. Rape threats have been normalised by toxic men who are part of the masked crowd that is talking about standing with women. What kind of upbringing and education allows this?’

Protests are going on since August 14
Mimi Chakraborty was an MP from Jadavpur Lok Sabha seat from 2019 to 2024. Women from small and big cities of West Bengal are taking to the streets to protest against the rape and murder of a 31-year-old doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The protesters have been gathering outside RG Kar Medical College since August 14. Let us tell you that protests are taking place all over the country. The main accused in the doctor murder case, Sandeep Ghosh, is getting cornered. The CBI is busy investigating the case.

The law tightened its grip on former principal Sandip Ghosh
Hours before the Supreme Court hearing on the Kolkata doctor rape and murder case is scheduled to begin, the West Bengal government has filed a complaint against former principal of RG Kar Medical College Sandip Ghosh, stating that a departmental inquiry has found collusion between Sandip Ghosh and some unscrupulous contractors.
