Kareena Kapoor has talked about the women of the Kapoor family working in films. She said that her sister Karisma Kapoor revived the name of the Kapoor family in the 90s. According to Kareena, Karisma showed courage and because of her, the women of the Kapoor family were able to work in films again.

Actually, it is believed that Raj Kapoor did not want the women of his family to work in films. For this reason, Babita and Neetu Kapoor also left films after marriage and becoming the daughter-in-law of the Kapoor family.

Father had told Karishma that she will have to make her own place

Talking to The Week, Kareena said that when Karisma expressed her desire to work in films, many family members supported her. Especially mother Babita told her that I want you to do what you want to do. Father Randhir Kapoor, who always used to worry about what people will think, also supported Karisma at that time and said that if you want to work in films then do it but you will have to find opportunities on your own because I will not help you in any way.

Kareena further said, ‘Papa had clearly told Karishma that being from the Kapoor family does not mean that they will get success in films and you will become a big star. You should get opportunities on your own and move forward.’

Karisma was called the first female star of the Kapoor family

Kareena further praised Karisma and called her the first female star of the Kapoor family. She said, ‘Dada ji (Raj Kapoor) had passed away, Papa (Randhir Kapoor) had made only one film ‘Henna’, Chintu uncle (Rishi Kapoor) was a big star but apart from them no one was so active in the 90s, so Karisma was the first big female star and sensation of the Kapoor family. In the true sense, she was the one who revived the Kapoor family in films. Kareena also said that after Karisma started working in films, it became easier for her to make a place in films because everyone wanted to see Karisma’s sister in films.’
