On June 11, popular Kannada cinema actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was arrested. He has been accused of murdering his own fan. Bangalore Police said in a press conference yesterday that the actor had a fight with the deceased a few days ago. Now the police have also got hold of the CCTV footage in which the actor is seen leaving the crime scene.
In a recent report by News18, citing a source close to the police, it is being said that the police have found strong evidence against actor Darshan. On June 9, a person working as a security guard in an apartment in Kamakshipalya area saw some dogs dragging a dead body in the drain near the building. The security guard immediately called the Kamakshipalya police station and informed about the incident. The police investigated and found that the body belonged to the deceased Renuka Swami, who worked in a medical store. The police registered a case of murder and started investigating.

Investigation into the case has revealed that the deceased was kidnapped by some people from Chitradurga area. The deceased was tortured for about 1 hour. Due to the continuous beating, Renuka Swami died at 11 pm. During the investigation, when the police searched the CCTV footage, the name of Raghu Darshan alias Raghavendra, the district president of Darshan’s fan association, came up. The police took Raghu into custody along with his two companions and started questioning him.

According to the police official, Raghavendra forcefully kidnapped Renuka Swamy from Chitradurga area and took her to the godown in Pattanavadagere, RR Nagar. She was repeatedly assaulted, which led to her death. When CCTV was examined, actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his girlfriend were seen leaving the crime scene. Detailed investigation has found that from 11 pm to 3 am, Darshan and Pavithra’s mobile numbers were also active in the mobile network of the same area. After 3 am, Darshan left the crime scene with his girlfriend Pavithra, after which Raghavendra dumped Renuka Swamy’s dead body in Kamakshipalya.

Darshan was done from Mysore and actress Pavitra was arrested from the gym
The police official found in the CCTV that the first to leave the crime scene was a black Scorpio in which the dead body of the deceased was kept. Actor Darshan and Pavitra left the crime scene in a red Thar behind it.
After getting evidence against actor Darshan and actress Pavitra, Bangalore Police first arrested Darshan from a farmhouse in Mysore and then Pavitra was arrested while leaving a gym in Bangalore.
What was the whole matter?
Actually, the police found that the deceased Renuka Swamy was a big fan of actor Darshan. In January 2024, Kannada actress Pavitra Gowda celebrated her 10th anniversary with Darshan. The relationship of both of them came into controversy, because Darshan Kumar is already married.
On January 24, Pavitra made the official announcement of the relationship.
He used to send objectionable messages to Pavitra on social media
Renuka Swami, a fan of Darshan Thoogudeepa, was very upset with this news. He was constantly messaging Pavitra Gowda and asking her to stay away from Darshan. Initially, Pavitra ignored his messages, but later Renuka Swami started threatening her by sending objectionable messages. When Pavitra told this to Darshan, he took action against that person. This has been confirmed on the basis of the statements of 10 people arrested in the murder case. At present, a detailed investigation of this murder is going on.
Actor Darshan has been surrounded by many controversies
In 2011, Darshan Thoogudeepa’s wife filed a complaint against him accusing him of domestic violence. He had to remain in police custody for 14 days in the case. Later his wife withdrew the case. After the case came to light, Darshan publicly apologized to his fans.

In January 2024, Kannada actress Pavitra Gowda shared a reel on social media and shared a glimpse of the celebration on completion of 10 years of her relationship with Darshan. From which it was revealed that Darshan has an extra marital affair with actress Pavitra.
The producer was threatened
In the year 2022, Bharat, a well-known producer of Kannada industry, filed a complaint against Darshan. He alleged that Darshan was threatening him with dire consequences.
The rift with Kichcha Sudeep was in the news
Kannada actor Darshan and Kicha Sudeep were close friends at one time. Both were often spotted together, however, Darshan broke the friendship after being offended by a statement made by Kicha Sudeep.
If reports are to be believed, the reason for the fight between the two was a film. Darshan got his first film with the help of Kiccha Sudeep, however, when Kiccha Sudeep mentioned this in an interview, Darshan got angry with him.
