‘He wanted us…’, it was not easy for Esha Deol to come into acting, said a big thing about father Dharmendra

New Delhi. There are many stars in Bollywood whose sons worked in the industry, but their daughters kept a distance from the film world. The names of many stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor are included in this list. Dharmendra’s family is one of the famous families of Bollywood. He had four children from his first wife Prakash Kaur, both sons showed their acting skills in the film industry, but the daughters stayed away. After his marriage with Hema, he had two daughters, out of which only Esha Deol made her debut on screen.

Dharmendra and Hema Malini’s daughter, Esha Deol made her acting debut 22 years ago with Boney Kapoor’s film ‘Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe’. She comes from a prestigious film family where both her parents as well as her step brothers Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol are big names in the industry. It was not easy for her to enter Bollywood and the reason for this was her father Dharmendra.

Recently, she recalled the moment when she had to convince her father to join acting. Talking to Bollywood Hungama, Isha said, ‘When I wanted to enter films, it was a bit difficult to get the green signal to join films. When she was asked who among her parents was more difficult to convince when she wanted to join films? In response to this, she said, ‘My father… not because of anything else, but because he is more protective as a man and he wanted to keep us private. On the other hand, I was completely excited and the industry was ready to take off.’

In an earlier interview with The Indian Express, Esha had shared that he (Dharmendra) used to be authoritative and conservative when it came to the women of the house, especially his daughters. According to her, ‘Girls should be kept away from the world in a safe way.’ She had said, ‘I would not say that it is difficult for them. Yes, there is a different level of challenge and boys also have their own set. The actress had said that she must have felt the same, also knowing how our industry works.’

Talking about the workfront, Isha was last seen in the web show ‘Hunter Tootega Nahi Todega’.
